Apps not blocking properly
One of the most common support tickets we receive is from new users unable to activate the blocking function.
Many customers who purchase Locked may have also used other screen time apps in the past.
Due to this reason, some of these apps may be bypassing the Locked Screen Time settings.
Turn off default Apple Time Limit settings
You'll simply need to open Screen Time in settings and turn off the default Apple Time Limit rules that you may have previously applied.
- Open Settings > Screen Time > App Limits
- Ensure you have toggled off any default Time Limits. Many users may have Time Limits for Instagram, for example.
- Apps should now be blocking properly, but if you're still having errors, please continue reading.
Confirm the Locked App has Screen Time Access
When you first install Locked and go through the onboarding screen, you may have accidentally skipped or denied the Screen Time permissions. This is another common mistake that may cause apps to not block properly.
- Open Settings > Screen Time and toggle Locked access on (green)
- Delete the Locked app and reinstall it from the App Store
- Open the Locked app, and grant Screen Time permissions in the onboarding process.
If you're still having trouble, please email me at jordan@nowlocked.com and we'll sort the issue out.
